The University of Georgia College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CAES) welcomes applications from students interested in Pursuing a MPPPM degree. Applications are created and submitted via the UGA Graduate School where they will be directed to the CAES MPPPM voting committee.

Admissions
Specific Requirements
To be admitted to the MPPPM program, applicants must:
- have an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution with a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) out of a 4.0 scale. Note: Students whose GPA falls below a 3.0 GPA must address this in their Statement of Purpose.
- submit three (3) letters of reference
- submit a current resume
- submit a statement of purpose that includes the area of pest management they are interested in (crop & soil sciences, plant pathology, or entomology). This interest area will serve as the student’s home department.
- GRE is not required
Prerequisite Course Requirements
- Two Biology courses (Biology 1107/L and Biology 1108/L preferred)
- General Chemistry (CHEM 1211/L) is strongly recommended
- Introductory course in Plant Pathology (PATH 3530/L)
Note: These courses fall outside of the MPPPM curriculum. If students are deficient in these courses, it is highly recommended to correct the deficiency prior to applying to the MPPPM program. If you are unsure if a course you’ve taken meets these criteria, please check with the Graduate Coordinator (Dr. Nick Basinger) or the Graduate Coordinator Assistant (Lisa Wimberly).
How to Apply
To begin the admission process, go to the UGA Graduate School Website and select “Apply Now.” Follow the instructions for your particular category (i.e. Domestic Applicants). Make sure you select the campus you plan to attend (Athens, Griffin or Tifton).
Once all applications are completed, including the required materials outlined above, the application packet will be presented to the MPPPM committee for a vote. Final decisions on admittance are made by the MPPPM Coordinating Committee.
Assistantships and Tuition Waivers
Assistantships
Admission into the MPPPM degree program does not guarantee funding for a graduate assistantship or tuition waiver. It is up to the student to secure assistantships. The best practice for securing an assistantship is to contact faculty on the campus you plan to attend (Athens, Griffin or Tifton) in your home department (Crop & Soil Sciences, Entomology, or Plant Pathology).
Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)
Students actively employed by the University of Georgia may be eligible for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). TAP is a supplemental educational assistance program for University System of Georgia employees.
Self-Pay
Students who are actively employed and do not have extra time outside of their jobs to commit to an assistantship (and not eligible for the TAP program) will be responsible for their tuition and fees
